Story
A Symphony of coffee and community.
When Andy and Zara opened Gravity's doors in 2012, they brought more than just European café culture to Calgary's Inglewood—they created a hub where coffee, comfort food, and live music blend seamlessly. Their sons Cedar and Oakley grew up in the café, while the business expanded to the Beltline in 2019 and Eau Claire in 2022.
The acquisition of Five'21 Coffee Roasters in 2023 brought roasting in-house, led by an unlikely duo. Andrew, "The Travelling Hippie Roaster," balances social work with his passion for coffee, bringing expertise from prestigious roasteries. Doug, an aviation industry veteran who turned a pandemic-era café purchase into profit, occasionally steps in to create some of their most popular blends.
Today, each musically-named coffee blend pays tribute to the live performances that fill their spaces, with every retail bag supporting Calgary's music scene. What began as a dream has become a Calgary institution, where community and coffee create perfect harmony.
